2024.06.13 六勇士6 Pack Lion Males青蔥歲月全員入鏡

These six young male lions roamed widely as nomads after being forced from their natal pride at around three years of age. We named them the 6 Warriors, and they were also known as The Contenders or Six Pack by some of the guides in the MaasAI Mara.
They took over the Marsh Pride in 2017, after ousting the two pride males Askari (aka Rafiki) and Mpole (aka Karibu), prompting the females and cubs to move north, temporarily abandoning their territory to avoid infanticide by the Warriors. Four of the six males are still alive, and still at times are to be found with the Marsh Pride females around Musiara Marsh and Bila Shaka. At one time the Warriors also controlled the Topi Plains/Ridge Pride, and roamed across the Mara river into the Kichwa Tembo pride’s territory. They also spent time on Paradise Plain to the south of Governor’s Camp.
Large coalitions such as this are able to control huge areas - 200 to 400 sqkm -, mating with lionesses from a number of prides, Siring large numbers of cubs, and forcing the resident pride males to run for their lives. They are now 10 years of age and though past their prime, together they are still a force to be reckoned with.

Note: They are very free spirited and crave adventure. They have sired many offspring, but due to their inability to commit, a lot of these cubs are no more. I don’t judge them. They live life as they see fit. They’ve been successful and are still going very strong. Very few lions can stand against them. I wish them a long life.
